The Navigation Drawer will show you the various publications available. In the Online section, you will get links to the official JW website. You can also place bookmarks on any verse or chapter to quickly resume your reading, or use the History feature to check your recent content. Click on footnotes and other references, and use the Search feature in case you know the exact text that you want to read.

Ease of Use

The app is fairly simple to use, and everything is laid out in neat tiles and panels, from the various menu options to the Bible books. The frequent updates help out Android users who experience crashes with this app. The latest version even lets you highlight text and take notes.

The app offers a simple and intuitive design based on a Navigation Drawer which you can easily access when you swipe the left edge of the screen or which you can access by clicking on the Menu icon on the top left corner. The design is optimized for the landscape mode or large devices and tablets. The Bible view is simple and consists of clear dark text against a white themed background, and you also have a Study pane with the various translations.

You can get the Android app as well as iOS version free of charge, and there are no in-app purchases for both versions.

  • Useful for research;
  • Neatly designed and simple to use;
  • Responsive support.

  • Some saved publications aren’t accessible;
  • Android mobile users who switch downloads to SD card have a problem accessing those media;
  • Frequent crashes. The Android app is more unstable than the iOS version.

This Bible study app offers really helpful tools not just for JW members but for anyone looking to do research. Certain features, mainly on the Google Play app, are quite unstable especially on devices with lower storage capacity and processing power. Some users have also suggested adding the possibility of linking the app to your email or Google Drive account which then syncs downloads and other media. This would eliminate the need to download the same files repeatedly. Overall it’s a great app, and I’d recommend it.
